After having last weeks game postponed, we fronted up again at Plenty Valley to kickstart our first foray into State 4.

With beautiful sunny weather and a good crowd gathering, it was a tense first 10 minutes until an undisciplined act from an experienced player saw the referee point to the spot. Up stepped The General who fittingly converted to get our first ever goal in State 4 and put us ahead.

Both sides were then reduced to 10 men after an altercation but that didn’t stop City who looked to score and score we did when Jordan intercepted the ball in the middle and ran towards goal and rounded the keeper to tap into an open net.

With Ali at right back playing his first game for the club joining fellow debutants in Sean playing in the middle and Nick up front, it was only a matter of time before City put more pressure on our hosts. That man JC did it again and we came into the sheds 3-0 leaders.

Second half and PVL huffed and puffed but couldn’t hit the net with Cameron superb in goal ably supported by Sunderland, Loq, Ali and Bakri.

Bakri who’s built like an Adonis showed his strength when he sent an opposing player to the ground with body to body contact.

Nick then added a 4th after being beautifully set up. We could of scored a couple more, but PVL did perform admirably in the second half and were unlucky not to score a consolation goal.

They must hate the sight of our boys with 11-0 in both games in front of there fans and 18-2 aggregate in all three games played since we started our seniors.

We need to improve as we will have far tougher tests in 2018 but it’s nice to walk away with 3 points.

CCTV caught up with our coach after the game “we played ok in patches but we still have way more room for improvement. Our depth is being tested and it will be further tested next week but that’s opportunity for others to step up. I thought we did what we needed to do in the first half and maybe the score played a part in our 2nd half performance. Credit to our hosts who never gave up but we have a plan when we play them and the boys carried it out well”
